Mildreds is an iconic London brand operating premium casual vegan restaurants offering a broad menu of internationally inspired food.
In May 2019, Encore acquired a majority shareholding in Mildreds as a result of a direct approach to the founder Jane Muir, who will continue as a director and shareholder in the business.
The first site launched in Soho in 1988 and has recently opened restaurants in Kings Cross, Camden and Dalston. The brand has a loyal and growing following, evidenced by its consistently high customer ratings and the success of its new site openings.
Globally the trend towards vegetarian and vegan eating is well documented. Mildreds is the most established and loved vegan restaurant brand in the UK. The Encore strategy is to continue to expand – through further openings, as well as brand extension into retail and media.
Since investing, Encore has augmented the senior management team with the addition of a Managing Director and a Finance Director. In addition, it has supported the management team to improve the infrastructure of the business and put in place a solid platform capable of supporting the growth aspirations of the company.
